TEMPLE MEMBERSHIP

The Hindu Temple’s membership for 2026 is  only £15 per year. The scheme provides the temple with a stable source of income and a way to engage the congregation. Becoming a member of the Hindu Temple Newcastle brings a sense of involvement, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the Temple. Members will receive updates on the Temples activities, events and voting members can nominate and vote for executive committee members. Members will also be invited to the AGM. (TERMS & CONDITIONS APPLY – See below)

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA:
– Aged over 18
– ⁠A resident who lives in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland or Durham. Please Note: to be eligible for voting or committee nomination individuals must be permanent residents of the UK for 3 years or more.
– ⁠Practiscing  the Hindu religion and be a part of the congregation attending Hindu Temple Newcastle.

PLEASE READ THE BELOW CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP:

ALL MEMBERSHIPS EXPIRE EVERY YEAR ON 31st DECEMBER… Irrelevent of at what point in the year you have taken memberships ALL memberships for that particular year will expire on 31st December every year. New memberships can be taken from 1st January the following year.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR VOTING RIGHTS & NOMINATION FOR ELECTION TO COMMITTEE… Each year the membership for voting rights and nomination will end on 31st March, This allows for the charity to then prepare a membership list and for an election chair and election committee to be formed to oversee fair and correct selection of committee members and presenting annual general meeting (AGM) as per is required legally by our constitution within the framwork of charities commission rules and regulations. IF YOU WISH TO VOTE OR NOMINATE YOU MUST TAKE YOUR MEMBERSHIP BETWEEN 1st JANUARY AND 31st MARCH

TO BECOME A HINDU TEMPLE MEMBER…

Membership can be octained at the temple from pandit ji’s or one of the committee members.
